Tumaini is the Swahili word for hope.

The Tumaini Project was established in 2002 to provide free antiretroviral treatment to Kenyans living with HIV.

In collaboration with the Slum Doctor Programme based in Bellingham, WA, USA and Jolkona, TREE has launched a fundraising campaign to supplement care to patients affected by HIV in areas that PEPFAR does not support, including third line antiretrovirals.
